Worship Life at Holy Trinity
Holy Trinity is pleased to offer two very different worship services each week. While the style of worship is different, all elements of the liturgy remain present, and Holy Communion is celebrated at every service. Click here to see when special services are scheduled. Contemporary Holy Communion- Saturdays at 5:30pm The first thing you will notice on Saturday evening is the excitement! When you enter the church building you will immediately hear sounds of our contemporary worship band, Living Stones, combined with the happy chatter of friends catching up. You will be warmly welcomed by our Greeters and our Ushers will give you a copy of our worship folder. Inside the folder you will find everything you need to participate in worship - even if you have never been to church! The words for worship, along with the songs, are laid out in a simple, easy to follow format. You can't help but notice the casual atmosphere. Here everyone is truly welcome to come as you are! The music of the service is all provided by the band, which features guitars, keyboard, drums, and even the occasional washboard! Traditional Holy Communion - Sundays at 10am Sunday morning worship is a traditional Holy Communion service. Our Greeters will welcome you as you enter and our Ushers will happily answer any questions you may have about worship. The worship folder for this service also contains everything you need to participate in worship. All of the words for worship, along with the hymns are printed in a simple, easy to follow format. As you settle into a pew, our members will make you feel at home. Soon the music from our beautiful pipe organ will begin and the choir will enter. We use a liturgical setting from Evangelical Lutheran Worship. Whether you attend Saturday evening or Sunday morning, we hope you leave excited and renewed and eager to return. There is always a place for you at HTLC. Stop in - we'll save you a seat! Holy Communion at Holy Trinity At Holy Trinity, we celebrate Holy Communion each week by intinction. This means Pastor will give you the host (On Saturday this is usually a piece of pita bread and on Sundays most often a wafer) and say the words, “The Body of Christ given for you”. You then take the bread to the Communion Assistant who will offer you the cup, saying, “The Blood of Christ”. Simply dip the bread into the wine and consume. If you choose, you may step to the side for a moment of prayer or do so in your pew. We invite all Baptized Christians to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Children of pre-communion age may be brought forward for a blessing. Those unable to partake of wine or wheaten bread are assured of the Lord's Full Presence in either element singly. Should you need to receive Holy Communion at your seat, please notify the usher and Pastor will bring communion to you.
Children at Worship
Worship is for everyone! Your entire family is welcomed! Pastor includes a Children's Sermon in the service each week, where he pauses after the Gospel reading to share the weekly lesson with the children. Our worship folder contains a color sheet and an activity page just for our youth. For smaller children who may need something quiet during service, there are "Little Lutheran" bags filled with books and coloring pages.
Located in the rear of our Sanctuary, is our Quiet Room. This a special place for the parents of infants and toddlers who may need to step away from worship for a few minutes. It is fully stocked with diapers and wipes, as well as quiet books and puzzles. Although the room is not soundproof, noise is buffered. The room is equipped with full sound and the large windows make it possible to see the entire Sanctuary. The pew in the Quiet Room is there for parents to begin teaching small children how to sit for worship. Parents of older children or anyone else who may need to step out, may visit the meeting room located on the main hallway. There is a comfortable seating area there, where the service can still be heard in its entirety.
